The building is an important component of the traditional commercial centre. It also forms part of the remnant building stock which make up the historic town's fabric.
Single-storey Edwardian style shop. Features include re-entrant doorways and decorative pediments. Shops have bullnose verandah and timber window frames.
At one time the shops were used as an outlet for the winery just over the river in Bassendean.
