Statement of Significance

The site represents a way of life no longer practiced, and significant
associations with communication in the early days of the Shire.

History

Mrs Lenton was the Gnarming Post mistress. She would
meet the trains and sort the mail ready for surrounding settlers to pick up from her. During the 1920s
she operated a public telephone.
