This place is an example of an early building in the area and is
representative of the spread of development north of the railway
line within Bayswater.
Small timber frame weatherboard cottage with hip roof and lean-to extension at
rear. Also lean-to front verandah supported on full height timber posts, though the
posts are likely recent additions. The central front door is flanked by a double hung
sash window on either side. A low brick chimney projects just above the ridge.
The current roof is a sheeting of an imitation tile pattern, which sits over the original
corrugated iron roof.
The house was built by the owner of the land, Mrs R Unwin, who occcupied it from
1907.
