The place is significant for the following values:
Social Value: The butcher shop has social significance to the local community due to long association in the village and earlier connections to the farming community and the extensive cattle yards that used to operate from Dardanup.
A painted single storey brick building designed in approximately 1940-60 replacing an earlier timber shop on the opposite side of the railway line. The building has a single ridge roof, is L-shaped with additions to the rear and a small concrete awning and pillars to the front.
