Aesthetically significant as an example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical timber framed single storey cottage dating from the first decades of the twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area.
Single storey and single faced timber framed and weatherboard clad walls with ashlar effect and a zincalume hipped roof house. The bull nosed verandah returns on the east side of the house and is supported by timber posts. There are brick and weatherboard additions to the rear of the house.
A cottage, with garden, is recorded on lot 14/15 of 79 in 1906/7. The owner, occupier was John Walsh, a Groom. (Fremantle Rate Book records).
