House, 103 Solomon Street is a single storey brick and zincalume house constructed in the Federation Bungalow style of Architecture. The walls are painted brick. The roof is hipped and gabled and clad with zincalume, and has exposed rafters. The verandah is under the main roof supported by timber posts on brick pillars. The asymmetrical front façade has a front door with side light and three timber framed casement windows under the verandah, and another set of timber framed casement windows under a zincalume clad awning supported by timber brackets at the gable end. There is a high rendered wall with timber pickets to the front boundary line with a custom designed steel gate.
Solomon Street was originally known as Mary Street. It changed its name in 1951/52 to honour Elias Solomon, a former mayor and MLA. On 108 Sewerage Diagram no.75 this area is sheep yards. In 1924/25 Lot 52 of 769 was vacant owned by William John A and Harry Higham. In 1929/30 is a residence owed and occupied by David Joslin.
High degree of integrity (original intent clear, current use compatible, high long term sustainability). High degree of authenticity with much original fabric remaining. (These statements based on street survey only).
Condition assessed as good (assessed from streetscape survey only).
