Physical Description

Federation Georgian Influences No 14 Hubble Street is a single storey cottage constructed in masonry with a hipped corrugated iron roof. It is an expression of the Federation Cottage Bungalow style. The place has been extensively modified in the twenty-first century. It is symmetrically planned with a central door and hopper light flanked by side lights and double hung sash windows. The facade features a full width skillion roofed verandah supported on masonry piers. A low masonry wall spans between the piers. The house is elevated above the front garden. A series of steps lead from the street level to the garden and to the verandah. There are two storey additions to the rear. The place is consistent with the pattern of development in Plympton and plays an important role in the pattern of development of a working class suburb.
