Statement of Significance

The site represents associations with one of the pioneering families of the district, who still farm in the district.

History

In 1914 Captain Richard Arundel took up the virgin block for his son Jack Trenchard Arundel. Clearers camped on Loc 9922 and a house was built on Loc 13336 when Jack left school to come farming in 1916.. The property was always considered part of the Harrismith area (Shire of Wickepin, west of the rabbit proof fence), until 1971 when the postal address and social centre refocussed to Dudinin when the Harrismith School closed.
