Statement of Significance

House, 206 South Terrace, is a single storey brick and tile house dating from c1910. The place has aesthetic value for its contribution to the streetscape and the surrounding area. It is representative of the typical building stock located within the residential areas of Fremantle. It is historically significant as a representation of typical workers' houses in the Fremantle area. The place is an example of the Federation Bungalow style of architecture.

Physical Description

House, 206 South Terrace is a single storey limestone, brick and tile house constructed in the Federation Bungalow style of Architecture. The walls are face brick to the front room, and limestone further back. The roof is hipped and gabled and clad with tiles. There is a painted brick chimney evident. The porch is under a dropped tiled roof supported by turned cement pillars. The asymmetrical front façade has a protruding front room under the gable roof with timber framed windows under a tiled awning. The limestone facade under the porch roof has a door. The house is on low limestone foundations. There is a low rendered and face brick wall to the front boundary line. The roof line shows a possible addition at the rear.
