The site represents a point of meeting for early settlers.

Physical Description

Large high walled dam surrounded by swamp oaks.

History

The government established dams and wells at regular intervals throughout the country side to provide a water supply for the settlers, stock and travellers. The dam was put down in 1932 as a water supply for the trains, previously the water was pumped from the lake and swamps, into the long overhead tanks. In 1965 scheme water was connected to Yealering town.
