Hilton Primary School (including oval and bushland) is included in the precinct listing for Hilton Central Area Precinct. See that entry for more detailed information on the development of Hilton. Hilton Primary School (including oval and bushland) Hilton Park Primary School was built between 1949 and 1954 as two schools which were amalgamated in 1977. The schools were built to standard plans by the Public Works Department. Both schools comprised single storey Bristol classrooms – brick and plaster walls with tile roofs. Other buildings accommodated offices, staff rooms and stores. There is a large native bush area surrounding the school which has been rehabilitated by the school.

Hilton Park Primary School opened on 11 September 1950 on a 5 hectare site in central Hilton. Works on the site finished in 1952 when the Bristol classrooms were completed. The school was built as a junior primary (grades 1 to 3) and senior primary (grades 4 to 7). Built between 1949 and 1954, the senior school comprised ten Bristol classrooms – brick and plaster external walls and tile roofs. Other buildings accommodated the kitchen staff room, office, store rooms, prefabricated offices and porches. This was called Hilton Park Senior School.
