Physical Description

House, 93 Marmion Street is a single storey timber and zincalume house constructed in the Federation Bungalow style of Architecture. The walls are timber framed and clad with painted timber boards. The roof is hipped and gabled and clad with zincalume. There is a red face brick chimney. The verandah is under a dropped zincalume roof. There is a high limestone rubble wall to the front boundary line which prevents further description of the front elevation.

History

The real estate section of the Fremantle Herald in 1992 states that this is a 1920s weatherboard home, with a corrugated iron roof (recently replaced), with clear leadlight windows and a fireplace in the master bedroom and a fireplace in the lounge room. The photo shows a fireplace in the kitchen with a Metters wood stove. In 1994 the same paper describes the property at early 1900s, and describes the front door as opening into a short hallway with 2 bedrooms leading off it. In 1995 a colour photo shows a double fronted house with a protruding room on the left hand side, with a portion of lead light window visible and a weatherboard gable end with corrugated iron roof with a ridge running back, and a porch on the right hand side. There is a mottled red brick chimney on the left hand side wall, with 2 windows behind that, and a skillion roof on the rear section of the house.
