Physical Description

Duplex, 143-145 South Terrace is a single storey brick and tile house designed as an example of the Federation Bungalow style of architecture. The walls are rendered brick. The roof is hipped and clad with tiles. The overall façade of the two places is symmetrical with two central front doors and timber framed casement windows either side. The verandah is under a continuous roof supported by rendered pillars on brick piers, and a low rendered wall balustrade. There is a low brick wall to the front boundary line, and a similar low wall dividing the two houses.

The verandah has a low rendered wall in front with a decoratively curved top and 5 classical style pillars supporting it, one being between the 2 front doors, where there is also a full height wall dividing the verandah into 2 parts, one for each house. There is a rendered wall at the front of the block that matches the verandah wall, with pillars and a de
