Aesthetically significant as an example of Fremantle’s vernacular architecture. Typical timber framed single storey cottage dating from the first decades of the twentieth century. Historically significant as a representation of working people’s living conditions in the Fremantle area.
Single storey timber framed and weatherboard clad walls and a corrugated asbestos roof hipped and small half timbered gable roofed house. The roof has a brick chimney, extends over the verandah and is supported by timber posts and timber balustrades. The following places form a significant group and contribute to the streetscape of Watkins Street; 52, 56, 62 & 64.
