The site represents a way of life no longer practiced, and associations with education and a generation of Dudinin settlers.
On 15 March 1915 the railway line through to Kulin was taken over by the Government and on 16 March it was officially opened. Businesses in the town of Wogolin, relocated the buildings and functions to the newly established settlement at the Dudinin Siding. Wogolin Gate School, established in 1911, closed before the building was relocated to Dudinin in 1921. The school was used until 1959 /1960. In 1956 a new school was constructed in Dudinin within the townsite. By 1960 another room was added. However in 1973 the school was closed and the building was relocated to Kulin School in 1974.
