This is one of a number of houses in this street which are of heritage value in a heritage precinct. The glass is particularly good. Similar vintage to the house next door at no 3. Both were part of the post WW1 boom. Together they contribute to a fine streetscape in a heritage precinct.
Interwar bungalow built c.1922. The tile roof is hipped with two gables one set behind the other. One gable front has timber slats, bargeboard and finial. An asymmetrical verandah across the east and north side. The wooden verandah has battered brick piers on which are three square chamfered wooden pillars with small lattice inserts. The windows are casement in sets of three with delightful stained glass in the eight light mullioned windows. A single eight light casement window is let into main front room as well. The front door is a pair of french doors with six mullions above a wooden panel at the bottom. The lesser rooms have four-paned mullions in sets of three. The handrailings are squared with lattice below. The house is set in an elevated position at the back of a sloping block with a sweep of steps up to the front porch. A carport and garage to the side are later additions.
J. H. Sinclair owned this in 1922.

Constructed from 1914, Constructed from 1915
This imposing bungalow set well back on a sloping block in a heritage precinct is now the home of the Chief Naval Officer in Western Australia. It has been well maintained and is a fine example of Edwardian architecture in Cottesloe.
This Edwardian bungalow with "Queen Anne" influences was built before 1914 for the Liddell family. The hipped and brokenback tile roof has three small gables which dominate the roofline. Gablets east and west allow for a flow of air. In the central gable is applied decorative cast scrollwork on a stucco background. The tuckpointed red brick walls have two stringcourses of rendered stucco. The chimney shafts are tall with corbelled tops. The house has wide verandahs to the front and sides. The skirt is of squared- random - rubble limestone with a rockface surface. The verandah posts are turned the railing and arched entrance porch are filled with decorative timber slats and balustrading. Projecting bays with windows are at each front corner beneath the gable. Taking the place of a central front entrance is a moulded statuary niche. On either side are symmetrical double-hung windows surmounted by half-round fan lights. A sweeping flight of steps have urns at the base and lions at the top. The large garden with mature trees is enclosed by a rusticated, squared-random-rubble limestone wall with brick piers infilled with wrought iron fencing. 1995 Comment: Imposing bungalow with historical and architectural significance in a proposed heritage precinct. The place is also heritage classified on the State Register of Heritage Places. 3. The place contributes to the character and amenity of the street, locality and overall district.
This was the first house built in the street which was created c1913-4. The owner was W.T.O. Liddell who had the two lots 11&12 [now 45/46]. Liddell was connected to the Hoskins metal foundry. Distinctive substantial interwar flats. A typical four flat plan of the interwar period given distinction by the styling of the stair tower. The ironwork fence of the 1990s is also a piece of good work from Perth g Wrought Iron but does not fit particularly well with the the main building.
A standard format block of four flats of two storeys, c 1940, with four separate garages under; it is arranged around a central staircase which uses Sullivan-like "Moderne" style leadlighting in a rendered vertical tower. Otherwise construction is in face brickwork with a tiled roof. The landscaping and fence are recent modifications.

Constructed from 1938 to 1950
This very individual expression of interwar Mediterranean architecture was designed and built by the architect Thorald Travers "Peter" Lewis as his own home. This is a particularly special piece of Cottesloe ° architecture. This street contains a whole series of houses of heritage value. This is the jewel.
An attractive and very individual Mediterranean styled two storey home situated on a sloping block built between 1938-9 and 1947-50. The exterior was constructed of poured concrete and terracotta tiles. The interior walls according to Molyneux are vermiculite blocks but the McDiven's who watched it being built state they are formed of concrete causing problems with the wiring. The spacious sierra ambience has been diminished by the addition of a low front wall planned by Lewis and increasingly necessary to divert pedestrians using the garden as a thoroughfare. Lewis' practice with the PWD primarily comprised designing country railway stations. 1995 Comment: "Peter" TT Lewis House architect/owner. Very strong and individual Mediterranean architecture. Commenced in 1937 it was worked on by Lewis till 1939 and from 1947-50. Lewis died of a brain tumour in 1952. Work on the house was suspended during the war as Lewis served overseas and was a prisoner-of-war in Changi Gaol. It was not completed when he died but John McDiven son of the Lewis's close friends Tedye and Bryant is using his original plans to complete his concept. According to Molyneux it is a minor gem which contains thoroughly consistent Art Deco interiors. The McDiven family close friends of the Lewis's state that this is incorrect as he often used whatever was to hand during times of economic or war caused shortages. Further infonnation can be obtained from Tedye McDiven who lives in York and . holds power of Attorney for Mrs Lewis.

Constructed from 1903
This is one of a group of two storey houses of heritage value in this street which is part of an historical ^ area of South Cottesloe. Although restored it contributes to the streetscape.
This 'Edwardian Filigree' two storey house of 1903 has a corrugated iron/zincalume hipped roof with small louvred gablets for ventilation. The two storey verandah to west and north has its own hipped roof. The chimney stack is squat and low crowned by three terracotta pots with hats. The walls are cream painted brick. The square verandah posts are chamfered wood with a wooden balustrade between and square section balusters. The delicate wooden frieze to both levels consists of alternating arches and turned spindles. Windows to the east are double hung except one which is a porthole window. Those to the upper verandah are french doors. Like its neighbours this house is sited lower than road level which is almost the height of the upper verandah and sheltered from view by screening trees. The house has recently been restored.
The house was built for the Brigdales. Myrtle Brigdale lived here in 1919. The current owners have photographs of it in the 1920s. According to owner only two rooms are part of original fabric which remain intact

Constructed from 1925, Constructed from 1914
This is one of a group of two storey houses of heritage value in this street which is part of an historical area of South Cottesloe of streetscape value. There was a cottage here in 1914s but two different people owned the lots which now constitute one block.
This house c 1914-25, has two blocks although it is situated on the seaward one. The house is an interesting version of the Indian Bungalow. The wide gable which sweeps across the whole of the upper storey encompasses sets of casement windows and central french doors which open onto the suspended porch perched above a skillion roof which covers the lower verandah. The now cement-tiled roof is gabled with a small gable protecting the upper storey porch/balcony. The gable to the porch is filled with timber and pressed metal in a dressed stone pattern. The verandah posts are turned. The frieze is just a slightly curved board rising to a central point in each arch. This is repeated in the porch and under it. Wrought iron balustrading is of later date. Painted brick extends up to the lower level of the eaves when it becomes pebble dash. The house is below street level. A cement path curves down to the lower level rising through steps to the verandah which is floored in cement. A front section of the verandah has been enclosed to form another room.
Integrity mostly intact Modifications Wrought iron balustrading is of later date.
