'Mrs .R .Watson of the Augusta/Margaret Historical Society writes "I know of one owner of the site before J. Allnutt Sr but have no evidence either way to indicate whether there was one only. John Allnutt arrived at Leschenault on “Trusty" 22 .5.1844.• In his will, written 4/3/61 is the statement: • • • "and I hereby give and devize the Town Allotment in the Town site of Australind now my property and formerly the property of Dacres 'Williams together with the dwelling house , etc. etc ..
