History

The agricultural hall opened on 3 May
1919, it was the first hall in Kulin. On the 20 September 1919 the first Kulin Agricultural show was
held at the hall. An honour roll commemorating those who served in the first World War was installed
in the hall. The Buffalo Lodge held their meetings in the hall. The Catholic congregation celebrated
mass in the hall. The school conducted classes in the hall in the mid 1920s when the student
numbers were ever increasing.
Fundraising activities during the war took place in this hall in addition to the Memorial Hall. There were
dances every second week, and events for the Patriotic Fund. The Uniting Church Ladies Guild ran
a beauty and deportment school in the hall. The Agricultural show continued to be held annually at
the hall until 1954. The Girl Guides used the hall facilities from 1957 to 1979. In 1978/9 the Shire
sold the place to a private owner and contributed the proceeds to the Recreation Centre.
Hargreave's hardware and building supplies after 1979.
